The format was very similar to the BBC’s Question Time – where the delegates put questions to a panel of expert speakers including, Nick Beighton financial director ASOS.com (with whom I managed to have a quick chat with), Rashik Parmer CTO IBM and Darrell Stein CIO Marks & Spencer.
It was truly a great opportunity to engage in a debate on subjects such as “getting business value from technologies” and “how technology can enable new opportunities within your business”.
The only downside to the event was the content was tilted towards blue-chip organisations, which is so far removed from SMEs in terms of their budget, resources and strategy.
All in all, it was highly stimulating and has generated lots of “food for thought”. Now I’m going to spend this weekend thinking of how I can add value to our customers from all these valuable insights!
Well done to all involved and thanks to Computing’s editor, Abigail Waraker and sponsers, IBM, for putting together a great event.
