Q-Cornwall asked the Silkstream team to design a new mobile-friendly “brochure website” for them, so that they can promote their coin-operated products and services online.
Who are Q-Cornwall?
Q-Cornwall are suppliers of coin-operated machines, supplying to pubs, clubs and bars in Cornwall and Devon. They have a reputation for reliability, honesty and fairness and are fully accredited and licensed with the Gambling Commission.
The Design
The homepage of the website is welcoming and immediately sets the tone for the website, with large high-quality images on a slider, horizontally “scrolling” through the main products that Q-Cornwall offers. Below the slider are three smaller thumbnails so that users can immediately click on the product that they’re after without having to wait for it to appear in the slider.
The website footer which is displayed at the bottom of each page gives the user three reasons why they should use Q-Cornwall as their supplier, with a strong Call-To-Action for the user to call or make an enquiry. The footer also includes a list of all of the available locations which Q-Cornwall supply to. Not only is this informative for potential customers, but contributes to their local search engine optimisation.
Product pages are visually consistent with the home page, with full-width photos of the product across the top of each product page and product information beneath. They are free to populate or edit the page with content to suit them, and insert additional images into the content if they would like, using the Silkstream CMS.
Their website also features a WordPress-powered blog so that Q-Cornwall can share the latest industry news, and create further information-based blog posts for SEO purposes.
The website comes with an About Q-Cornwall page, where they can tell their customers a little about themselves.
Finally, an enquiry form makes it easy for both existing and potential customers to send messages to Q-Cornwall about their products and services. Contact pages are a necessity for any website that sells a service or product via their website.
Thanks to responsive web design, Q-Cornwall’s website looks great on any platform – tablets, smartphones and browser windows of all sizes! This is especially important considering Google’s upcoming mobile algorithm update – a.k.a. Mobilegeddon – due 21st April 2015.
